85% of economic activity in the US is currently driven by burning fossil fuels. Schemes to “price-up” and restrict the use of fossil fuels will come at an economic price. The American innovation engine needs to find a scalable clean energy source that costs less than making energy from burning coal. Technical advances are adopted quickest if they are driven by economic advantage and lower energy cost.
